Prior to starting their own law firm, Jason Clay and Colin Bowen worked together for many years as attorneys with the Alameda County Deputy Public Defender’s Office.  That indispensible experience, has provided them with the confidence, knowledge and insight necessary to effectively confront issues during every stage of any criminal prosecution.  Their experiences also fueled their desire to develop their own law firm in which they could focus their legal skills, resources and efforts to provide superior legal representation to clients by maintaining manageable and practical caseloads.

JASON CLAY
Jason Clay has devoted his career to the practice of criminal defense law for over 13 years.  During that time, Mr. Clay has represented literally thousands of clients facing all manner and complexity of criminal charges, up to, and including, capital/”death penalty” cases -  matters which most other private attorneys are not qualified to handle.  Mr. Clay’s keen legal acumen and wealth of trial experience, resulted in his invitation to speak as an instructor at the annual Death Penalty Defense Seminar held in Monterey California.  Further, for two consecutive years, Mr. Clay was one of six California trial attorneys that were invited to attend the NAACP Legal Defense Fund Capital Defense Seminar, held annually in Airlie, Virginia.

Mr. Clay received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Colorado at Boulder; and his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley.

COLIN BOWEN

Colin Bowen is an experienced trial attorney who has dedicated his career to the practice of criminal defense law.  Throughout his extensive legal career, Mr. Bowen has defended thousands of clients charged with crimes ranging in severity from general misdemeanors to “Special Circumstance” homicide cases, in both the adult and juvenile justice court system.  Mr. Bowen has been selected to serve on the Criminal Justice Act Panel for the Northern District of California to represent defendants in federal criminal prosecutions. His developed trial skills and insight have earned him a reputation as a formidable advocate for the rights of his clients. 

Mr. Bowen Received his Juris Doctorate from the University of California at Berkeley (Boalt Hall School of Law); and his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.
